Statement Overview

Your Student Loans

Nelnet Makes it Easy to Stay Up To Date on Your Student Loan Information.

Nelnet sends monthly account statements approximately three weeks before your due date, either via a paper statement sent to your address or electronically to your My Secure Messages inbox (based on your preference), which is available once you log in to Nelnet.com (learn more about My Secure Messages). If you are currently in school, in your grace period, in a deferment, or in forbearance, you may not receive a monthly statement.

Your Payment Due Could Be $0

If you receive a bill for $0.00 amount due, it means you have paid more than the minimum due. That means no payment is due now, but you can always pay more without penalty. The extra funds will go directly toward principal, saving you money and maybe even shortening your loan term.

Your Payment Could Be More Than It Usually Is

Either your payment last month did not cover the total amount due, your lower payment plan has expired, or you are on a plan that increases incrementally. To verify, log on to Nelnet.com or call us at 888.486.4722.

Your statement is just a snapshot of your account. Accurate, up-to-date information is always available, along with due dates, payment amounts, and other account details, on Nelnet.com.
